Great Coaches Make a Difference.
Swim Farm coaches do more than teach swimming. They build confidence, develop skills, and create relationships with swimmers that can last for years.
You don't need coaching experience to get started. We'll train you, give you opportunities to grow, and help you earn certifications in the Swim Farm programs that fit your strengths and interests.

Why Coach At Swim Farm?
-
Work directly with swimmers and see their progress week after week. When a swimmer finally gets a skill you've been working on together, you get to know you helped make that happen.
-
No coaching experience? That's okay. New coaches receive training, shadow experienced staff, and work toward certifications before coaching independently.
-
We send out our coaching schedule every two weeks. School, sports, swim meets, vacations and life happen. Tell us when you're available and we'll schedule from there.
-
Certified coaches start at $15/hour. As coaches gain experience, earn additional Swim Farm certifications, and take on greater responsibility, they can advance through our coaching levels and earn higher base rates.
Our monthly pay tiers reward consistency too. The more frequently you coach, the higher your hourly rate can be that month.
-
Coaching is more fun when you like the people you work with. Our staff supports one another, shares ideas, helps each other improve, and works together to create a great experience for our swimmers.
-
Your first certification doesn't have to be your last. Coaches can complete additional training and earn certifications across different Swim Farm programs as their skills, experience, and interests grow.
YOU ACTUALLY GET TO COACH.
At Swim Farm, we keep our swimmer-to-coach ratios small. Really small.
Depending on the program, you'll coach anywhere from one swimmer in a 1:1 lesson to a group of no more than five. That means you have time to actually watch, teach, correct, encourage, and get to know the swimmers you're working with.
And you're never coaching alone. Every practice has experienced coaching leadership on deck to answer questions, troubleshoot skills, offer coaching ideas, and step in whenever you need another set of eyes.
Small groups mean you'll see the results of your own coaching. You're the one helping them make progress.

INTO THE COACH YOU WANT TO BE
YOU DON'T HAVE TO COACH EVERYTHING.
Swim Farm coaches earn certifications for the specific levels they're trained and qualified to coach.
Some coaches are fantastic with our youngest Learn-to-Swim swimmers. Others are better suited for developmental groups or advanced stroke technique. You don't need to be great at all of it.
We'll help you find where you fit, then give you the training to become great at it.
What does coaching at swim farm look like?
coach when you’re available
1
You don't have to commit to the same practices every week. We send our staff a scheduling poll every two weeks, and you tell us when you're available to coach.
Want to work every weekend? Great. Busy with a swim meet one weekend and free the next? That's fine too. Coaches who work more frequently can earn higher hourly rates through our tiered pay system.
DIFFERENT WAYS TO COACH
2
Depending on the practice and your certifications, you might spend an hour teaching 1:1 lessons, coach a small developmental group, work with advanced swimmers, or do a combination during the same practice.
No two coaches' schedules have to look exactly the same.
That gives us new information rather than explaining advancement again.

FIND YOUR FIT

Coach the swimmers you're best suited for.
Your certifications determine which levels you're qualified to coach, but they don't mean you have to coach every level you're certified for. Some coaches love working 1:1 with our youngest swimmers. Others are at their best teaching stroke technique or coaching developmental and advanced groups.
GREAT COACHING ISN'T COMPLICATED.
you don’t have to know everything. You do have to care.
-
Be early and ready to greet swimmers before practice starts. Your swimmers shouldn't be waiting for you to get organized, figure out where you're supposed to be, or finish whatever you were doing before practice.
-
Get to know the kids you're coaching. Learn their names, what they're working on, what they're good at, and where they need help. Small groups give you the chance to actually build relationships with your swimmers. Use it.
-
Coaching is flexible, but that flexibility only works when everyone communicates. Keep up with staff messages and respond to scheduling polls and other requests by the deadline. If I send something to the entire staff, I shouldn't have to follow up individually to find out whether you saw it or why you haven't responded.
-
When you're coaching, you're coaching. Phones may be used when they're part of the job, like taking attendance, checking a practice set, or recording video to give a swimmer feedback. Otherwise, keep it put away. Your swimmers deserve your attention.
-
Don't just tell swimmers what to do and watch them do it. Watch closely. Teach. Correct. Explain. Adjust. Every swimmer should receive meaningful, individual feedback multiple times during every practice.
-
You don't have to be the loudest person on the pool deck, but you do need to be engaged. Encourage your swimmers, celebrate progress, and create an environment where kids enjoy working hard and look forward to seeing you.
-
Parents are trusting us with their kids, and we take that seriously. Be patient, responsible, supportive, and professional. Be the kind of coach parents are happy to see working with their child every week.
KNOW THEM. TEACH THEM. CARE IF THEY GET BETTER.
2026–2027 COACH PAY SCALE
We want great coaches to stick around, and we want to reward the coaches who make Swim Farm a regular part of their schedule.
All certified coaches earn an hourly rate based on their coaching level and how frequently they coach each month. There is no minimum number of practices you have to work. We send out a scheduling poll every two weeks, you tell us when you're available, and your schedule can change throughout the season.
Coaches who work more frequently move into higher pay tiers for that month. The more consistently you're on deck, the higher your hourly rate.
You don't have to coach all the time to work here. But if you do, we think you should be paid accordingly.
COACH PAY SCALE
Your coaching level establishes your baseline practice rate. Monthly pay tiers reward coaches who make Swim Farm a larger part of their schedule.
The rates below are used to calculate your pay based on the scheduled length of each practice. A 60-minute practice pays 1× your listed rate, a 90-minute practice pays 1.5× your listed rate, and a two-hour practice pays 2× your listed rate.
Practice pay includes the expected time immediately before and after the scheduled pool time, including approximately 10 minutes before practice and 10 minutes after practice for preparation, communication, and wrap-up.
How Your Pay Tier Is Calculated
Your monthly tier is based on the percentage of Swim Farm practices you coach that month compared with the practices you are qualified and eligible to coach. Coaches are not measured against programs or practice groups they are not approved to coach.
This means coaches who make Swim Farm a larger part of their schedule can earn a higher practice rate. Your tier is recalculated each month, so your practice rate may increase or decrease as your participation changes.
Baseline Rates + Monthly Adjustments
The rates above are baseline practice rates based on coaching level, certifications, and monthly participation. Swim Farm may approve a higher starting placement when a coach's experience, coaching ability, qualifications, or prior performance warrant it.
A higher pay tier may also be awarded during an individual month for exceptional coaching quality, reliability, leadership, covering for a coach who cancels, taking on additional responsibilities, helping with difficult-to-fill practices, or other program needs.
These adjustments allow Swim Farm to recognize coaches who go above and beyond while keeping the regular participation tiers meaningful.
